Now that you have an autoresponder set up, maybe you have a few subscribers and you even have a few follow-up messages or scheduled broadcasts. Now the issue is “how often should you contact or e-mail that list,”, “Is it possible to talk too often or not often enough to them,”. It definitely is.
It’s best to e-mail your list once per day, which seems like a lot at first until they get used to it. Don’t contact them more than once per day, but even if you’re not at the daily frequency yet, keep in contact with them at least once per week. I say that you should e-mail your list once a day in order to keep up that momentum. You can reference yesterday’s e-mail message and it’s still fresh in their minds. People who disagree with me always come up against the same roadblock and it’s this: If you’re only e-mailing your list, say twice a month, and now you have to launch a product in a short period of time, and e-mail them once a day for a week, there’s a disconnect. People are used to only being e-mailed a few times a month and now you’re e-mailing them a year’s worth of e-mails in one single week. It’s better to remain consistent and get them used to getting an e-mail form you every day, especially if it’s a helpful one, and then they won’t mind if you have to e-mail every day to launch a product.
There are tons of different e-mails you can send to your list to keep them excited and prevent them from getting angry at you. You could pitch a product, you could offer some free advice, you could ask them questions, you could send them to your blog post and you can remind them about any of the above that you might have posted a year or a week ago.
